I only started watching The Vampire Diaries because I have a thing for vampires. And the pilot episode seemed to be a copy of Twilight, a sort of cheese and kitsch. But I decided to stay with the show for a few more episodes. My, I'm glad I did.
By episode four, The Vampire Diaries had completely established characters were so well thought out and described so beautifully that I could not help but become obsessed. Elena is a strong, confident girl who is really able to defend themselves. Stefan, who was initially very one-sided, out of his incubator be in later episodes and really shakes things up. Paul Wesley did an excellent job of character. And finally, Damon. Need we say more? Ian Somerhalder deserves many awards for this role. The development of the personality of Damon literally blew my mind. It starts as delicious cruel, ironic, and badass, the perfect villain. But by the end of the season, you're rooting for him. You are able to understand his motives and really feel for him.
The plot shows blew my mind. It was hard to believe that the writers can cram so much activity in a single show of 45 minutes. twists, especially the ending, to keep you guessing until the end. The authors do a fantastic job lines regarded as a real-sounding characters, and to give some of the best-liners on television Damon. Acting was amazing, and the special effects are required to show a single (though I'm glad they abandoned the crows and fog after a few episodes). I have recommended this show and almost everyone I know. It is by far my favorite show on television. Even if you're into vampires, The Vampire Diaries is much more to offer. Give it a try, and I promise you that pulls in.
